Day 1: Kigali to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Your adventure begins in Kigali, Rwanda’s vibrant capital. After an early breakfast, meet your driver-guide who will brief you on the trip before setting off on a scenic drive through the rolling hills of Rwanda — famously known as the “Land of a Thousand Hills.”

You’ll cross the border at Katuna or Cyanika, entering Uganda’s southwestern highlands. Along the way, enjoy picturesque landscapes, terraced farms, and warm smiles from the local communities.

Upon arrival in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, check into your lodge, relax, and soak in the tranquility of the rainforest. In the evening, you may take a short village walk to interact with the Batwa community, known for their rich forest traditions.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest

Today is the highlight of your safari! After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You’ll be assigned to a gorilla family and begin your trek through the dense forest  an adventure that can last from 2 to 6 hours, depending on the gorillas’ location.

As you follow the gorillas’ trail, the forest comes alive with birdsong, butterflies, and the rustling of leaves. When you finally meet the mountain gorillas, spend an awe-inspiring hour watching them feed, play, and care for their young  a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience.

After trekking, return to your lodge for a late lunch and a relaxing afternoon. You can unwind with a nature walk or simply enjoy the forest views from your veranda.

Day 3: Return to Kigali

After breakfast, bid farewell to the Bwindi forest and begin your return journey to Kigali. Enjoy more scenic views along the way, with photo stops at beautiful viewpoints. Depending on your schedule, you may visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial or local craft markets before your departure.
