Day 1: Kampala/Entebbe → Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary → Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, your safari guide will pick you up from Kampala or Entebbe for the drive to Murchison Falls National Park (~6 hours). Along the way, stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a guided walking safari to track white rhinos in their natural environment. This gives you the first of the Big Five on your journey.

Continue the drive north, passing through Uganda’s rolling hills, roadside markets, and small towns. Arrive at the park in the afternoon, check into your lodge, and enjoy lunch. Later, drive to the top of Murchison Falls where the Nile squeezes through a 7-meter gorge before plunging 45 meters below — a thunderous and breathtaking sight.

Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive & Afternoon Boat Cruise on the Nile

Wake up early for a sunrise game drive in the northern sector of the park. With the golden light spreading across the savannah, look out for lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, Uganda kob, hartebeest, and if lucky, leopards. The open grasslands make Murchison one of the best places in Uganda for wildlife photography.

Return to the lodge for breakfast and relaxation. After lunch, set out on a boat cruise along the Nile River to the base of Murchison Falls. On the way, spot hippos, crocodiles basking on the banks, elephants drinking water, and countless bird species including the rare shoebill stork. The cruise ends with a dramatic view of the thunderous falls.

Optional: Hike to the top of the falls for a closer experience of the Nile’s power before returning to the lodge. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive → Return to Kampala/Entebbe

After breakfast, enjoy another game drive as you exit the park, giving you more chances to spot animals you may have missed earlier. Capture last-minute photos of giraffes, antelopes, or hyenas roaming the savannah.

Continue the drive back to Kampala or Entebbe, arriving in the late afternoon. Drop off at your hotel or Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight, marking the end of your 3-day Murchison Falls safari.
